Here are a few facts about the Founder of this project, Mimi Lenox.
Becoming the leader of a peace movement was not my intent when I set out to blog. But it has become my joy and mission, as all of you have shown me the power of images and words - yours and my own.
I have put pen to paper since I was seven years old. I am a writer, classically trained musician, passionate peace blogger, student of life and author. I have an insatiable curiosity about the world I live in.
When I discovered the world of blogging and wrote my first web post in 2006, I knew it was a perfect match. Not a day goes by without a story to tell. On my main blog, Mimi Writes... you will find real life stories, humor, photography, a bit of poetry, the lovely evolutionary landscape of peace globes in the blogosphere and one constant theme: change. I keep learning as I journal my journey in the Palace of Bloggingham. And things are always happening here on the peace blog.
As Creator and Founder of Blog4Peace.com, an online global peace initiative that has been celebrated by thousands of people, I've come to understand the pervasive significance and influence of blogs and websites on our society, our consciousness, and on this planet now deemed a global neighborhood.
I receive peace globes from all over the world on a regular basis.
November 4th is the day we blog for peace. Every year. The same day. One subject. One day. One voice. As of Nov 2022, we are seven continents and 214 countries/territories strong... and counting.
While I sometimes look in the rear-view mirror of life for inspiration and insight, I try not to stay there too long. There is so much work to be done in my own life and in the world. Don't you want your life to count for something more? Join us. As many continue to testify, the peace globe movement becomes a part of you. It has become a catalyst of personal evolution, self-examination, and activism in the lives of many bloggers, changing the way they think about peace in their own personal lives, communities, and in the world. It has given ordinary people like you and me, the power and permission to say extraordinarily powerful things on a global scale - and not just one day, we maintain a daily presence now on social media across thousands of pages. We have created something tangible here. We are connected in this work. As the movement continues to blossom each year with new ideas, new countries and locations, new people, we find ourselves more dedicated to the task at hand; that one day, every blog and every website will speak the words "Dona nobis pacem" - Grant Us Peace - in unison on November 4th and then walk off the blog to become a more peaceful planet.
