Yes! We'll be there again this year, Mimi!
Looking forward to seeing you there, Meowmeowmans!
Thanks, Mimi, I am struggling with deep fatigue, due to two stressors: the rise of right wing ideology, racism and division all over the world (especially in North America) and the climate crisis which is rushing us towards increasing cataclysmic events. It is a heavy weight I carry. I gain hope from young people - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Greta Thunberg and the students marching for climate change. Therein lies my hope as my energy has been beaten down since 2016 - I, who have been optimistic and positive all my life, am discouraged. Words are powerful. AND we need action. And governments who will hear us. Next voting day, vote for the climate - and for peace and unity. I will be there November 4th. Thank you for giving us this outlet every year. Each year, sadly, we need it more.
Sherry Blue Sky - I'm so glad you said all of the above! It resonates with me. It seems like 2016 was a tipping point for the downward spiral. Many of us are feeling the weight of the world. Discouragement and depression are natural consequences of the stress we are feeling as a country, as a people, as a planet! It's as if the earth is groaning under the scourge of one climate crisis after another and one political swing after another and one more vile element in our society after another...I could go on. It has gotten to the point that we are sinking in a sea of collective sadness. People who would normally find solutions and move on with positive solutions are finding it difficult to withstand the onslaught from so many sides at once. We all feel it!
I am proud of the young people and how they've stepped up. It is now even more pressing for our generation to support and help them create the change we need. We all have to contribute and not give up. I won't give up on the power of words and the goodness of people.
